Okay, this might be a little bit of a stretch. I might also be a little biased, because he helped me limp my way to the championship game in my dynasty-ppr league before succumbing to injury himself. I know, he’s either going to have Blane Gabbert or Chad Henne throwing to him, but in spite of that I think we’ll see a big year from the Mount Union alum. You’re looking at four games without their 2012 draft prize in Justin Blackmon, while Laurent “stud when I can stay on the field” Robinson is a free agent, leaving Mike Brown and Mohamed Massaquoi to round on the depth chart until Blackmon’s return.
Personally, I only see one outcome: targets and receptions. If you look at last years numbers, Mr Shorts had some MONSTER stretches. He had a huge week 8 against Green Bay with 8 receptions for 116yds. He cooled off for a game against Detroit, and then just murdered from weeks 10-13 combing for 20 receptions, 368 yds, 4tds, and 78.8pts(ppr). Will he duplicate the kind of success he had last year? I don’t know. I’m just a shitty blog writer. But if you’ve got a WR hole to fill and need a player with some huge upsides, Cecil Shorts is on my list.
